Malachi Love-Robinson

According to Sandra Rose A Florida teen who impersonated a doctor will spend the next three-and-a-half years behind bars. A Palm Beach County judge handed down the light sentence to Malachi Love-Robinson, 20, who pleaded guilty to grand theft, practicing medicine without a license, running a medical clinic without a license, and a plethora of other charges.

The well-spoken teen plead guilty to avoid a trial. He was facing up to 90 years in prison if convicted on the 14 charges, according to the Sun Sentinel.

Love-Robinson was arrested last year on charges that he stole personal checks from an 86-year-old West Palm Beach woman.

Court documents show Love-Robinson drained Anita Morrison’s checking account to make $34,504 worth of payments for his Nissan car loans and credit cards.

One Bank of America teller who cashed forged checks for “Mr. Love” wrote in a sworn statement, “I found it very odd that a ‘doctor’ at the age of 18-19 years old runs errands in a white coat, full name badge and a stethoscope.”

Love-Robinson allegedly tried to buy a $35,000 Jaguar using his 73-year-old grandmother’s social security number without her permission.

He operated the New Birth New Life Holistic Medical Center & Urgent Care on N. Congress Avenue in West Palm Beach, Florida in 2015.

His fraudulent clinic employed a small staff, including his family members, and he listed his age as 25 on the medical center’s Facebook.com page.

City health officials began investigating Love-Robinson in October 2015 after a Palm Beach Narcotics Task Force agent posed as a patient seeking a physical exam.
