Some things we just can’t explain. A woman jumped in front of a TRAIN and walks away unharmed …..
A pajama-clad woman jumped in front of a subway train on the Upper East Side on Tuesday in an apparent suicide attempt — but landed in the tracks’ well and survived unscathed, officials said. Witnesses told police they saw the woman, described as in her 20s, leap in front of a downtown Q train as it was pulling into the East 72nd Street station around 11:15 a.m. Police and fire officials raced to the scene and turned off the power to the tracks in an effort to save the woman, who was under the train. When they removed her from the tracks, rescuers found she was mostly unharmed, save for some bumps and bruises suffered during the jump, police said. She was dressed in a dark gray top and flannel checkered pajama bottoms and was wearing flip flops. EMS workers treated her at the scene for a while before taking her to Cornell Medical Center for a more thorough examination. Q trains have been suspended between 57th Street and 96th Street as the investigation continues, the MTA tweeted.
